A tribute to the power of romantic music.

Immerse yourself in the passionate virtuosity of Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff, with music that speaks of love, heroism and the human spirit. Conductor Ian Parker and VAMSO open the 24/25 Kay Meek series with Tchaikovsky’s powerfully romantic overture-fantasy: Romeo & Juliet and Khachaturian’s spirited Sabre Dance. In a brilliant display of passion and precision, Maestro Parker then joins the orchestra as piano soloist in a work that is as virtuosic for the orchestra, performing the dynamic and hauntingly beautiful: Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini by Rachmaninoff.

Khachaturian: Sabre Dance
Khachaturian: Adagio from Spartacus
Tchaikovsky: Romeo & Juliet Fantasy-Overture
