The Leading Ladies

Celebrate International Women’s Day with Vancouver-based 11-woman big band The Leading Ladies.

Directed by trombonist Casey Thomas-Burns, The Leading Ladies presents a rare musical blend of classic and modern jazz, showcasing beloved pieces from the big band era alongside modern-day originals. This dynamic and vibrant group of young women first came together to perform a single show in 2019. They've stuck together ever since.

Join us and the big band for this celebration and expect to hear new takes on classic favorites, original music by local and Canadian composers, and perhaps the occasional RnB tune thrown in just for fun. Following a sizzling 2024 season with over 40 shows, this band has been named as one to watch on the Canadian jazz scene.
