Voicemail messages left on the Box Office line at 604-981-6335 will be answered by a member of our team in order of date received between 12:00 and 16:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

You can also direct email inquiries to [email protected] for a faster response time.

E-Tickets & Will Call

All tickets purchased online are sent automatically within 24 hours of purchase to the email address associated with your account. They are sent from [email protected] with the subject line ‘Your Kay Meek tickets are attached’, or can be downloaded from Your Account. Please ensure you have searched your email for this subject line, checked your junk mail folder, or tried to download them from your account before contacting the Box Office.

If you are collecting your tickets from Will Call, we will ask for your name or order number.

Accessibility

The Kay Meek Arts Centre has accessible seating available in both of its theatres, elevator access to all levels, and accessible parking.

We’re proud to offer free Essential Companion tickets to shows in our host programme, and also have hearing assistance devices available for events in the Grosvenor Theatre.

We strive to reduce barriers to attendance for our audiences, and welcome any enquiries you may have about how we can accommodate your visit. For more information, including how to book accessible tickets, please click the link below to visit our Accessibility page:

Concessionary Rates

For Kay Meek host shows, we may offer the following concessionary rates:

  • Senior (65+)
    • Anybody aged 65 or older.
  • Under 30
    • Anybody aged under 30.
  • Essential Companions
    • A companion to a paying patron who would otherwise be unable to access the event.

Please be prepared to produce ID if requested to confirm eligibility.

Note that community events determine their own pricing, and may not offer the same rates.

Group Bookings

For groups of 15+, bookers can request to make a non-refundable 50% deposit at time of booking to reserve seats.

  • Final confirmation of numbers and the remaining balance will be due 14 days before the event, or the nearest business day – whichever is earlier.
  • Non-payment will result in your seats being released to general sale and your deposit forfeited.
  • We will honour a reduction in your group size by up to 10% without penalty, and additional seats can be provided subject to availability.

Please contact the Box Office if you would like to enquire about making a group booking.

Exchanges, Refunds, and Returns

Ticket sales are final and non-refundable, except in the case of event cancellation or reschedule (see our Terms and Conditions).

If you can no longer attend an event:

  • In the event of a sold-out show, we can endeavour to re-sell your tickets to the waitlist. If we are able to re-sell your tickets, we will credit the value of your tickets (minus fees) to your account for use against a future booking. We cannot resell any returns until all available seats have been sold.
  • You can donate the face value of your ticket to the Kay Meek Arts Centre. This will release your seat for sale to other patrons.
    • You can request the donation of your tickets by emailing the Box Office up to two hours before the scheduled start time of your event.
    • You will receive an email confirmation of your donation once it has been processed, and we will mail you a tax receipt where the value of the contribution exceeds $20.

Ticket exchanges between Kay Meek host shows may be made (subject to availability) at a cost of $5 per transaction. Exchanges must be requested at least two business days prior to the original event. If the requested tickets are of a higher value, the difference in price will be due at the time of exchange. If the requested tickets are of a lower value, the difference will be credited to your account for use against future bookings.

  • Ticket exchanges are not available for venue rental events presented by hiring companies at the Kay Meek Arts Centre.
  • Account credits are valid for 12 months. Account credits cannot be exchanged for cash. Expired account credits cannot be reinstated or redeemed.

Age, Latecomer, and Other Policies

Age Policies

Babes on laps

Up to 24 months, infants do not require a ticket if they will be sat on their guardian’s lap. Children aged above 24 months will require their own ticket.

We ask that patrons book conscientiously, with an awareness that the expectation is that they leave the auditorium swiftly if the infant becomes distressed or otherwise causes a disturbance.

In the Grosvenor Thetare, patrons with babes in arms must book towards the back of the auditorium (Rows M through T) and on an aisle (Seats 1-6, or 26-31). This is to minimise disruption if you need to leave the auditorium mid-performance.

Children

Young people under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a responsible person aged 19+.

In the interest of safeguarding all of our patrons, please note that children and school groups are the responsibility of their designated guardian or group leader, who should ensure appropriate behaviour in all areas of the building.

Latecomers

Patrons arriving late may only be admitted if permitted by the production company and at the Front of House Manager’s discretion. If you are admitted, you may not be seated in your original seats.

Photography and Videography

Photography, filming, and audio recording are prohibited in our auditoria unless otherwise advertised. The Kay Meek Arts Centre reserves the right to photograph or film in our venue for future promotional activity or to broadcast events. We will post notices when we are taking photos or recording in such a way that you might be identifiable; please inform a member of staff if you do not wish to be included in images.

Food and Drinks

Outside food and drinks are not permitted inside the theatre. Refreshments purchased at the theatre bar are allowed inside the auditoria (as long as beverages are transferred into paper or plastic cups). Hot food is not allowed in the venue at any time.

Smoking

Kay Meek Arts Centre is situated on a smoke-free campus. Smoking and vaping are not permitted either inside or outside the venue.

Weather

All shows will proceed as scheduled unless you are notified otherwise. We are unable to offer refunds based on inclement weather and its effects on your travel plans.
