Capturing the Indigenous voices of his ancestors, Jeremy Dutcher blends classical, jazz and pop influences to critical acclaim
Jeremy Dutcher, the Two-Spirit artist and member of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation), transcends boundaries with his music. It is playful in its blending of classical, jazz and pop influences, while being full of reverence for the traditional songs of his home.
The only two-time Polaris Music Prize winner, Jeremy Dutcher first gained widespread recognition for his groundbreaking 2018 debut album Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonaw and again in 2023 for his sophomore album Motewolonuwok. In 2025, he was awarded the Governor General's Performing Arts Award for Lifetime Artistic Achievement.
With his sublime melodies, bold composition and outstanding tenor voice, Jeremy’s performance will take audiences through a range of vibrant emotions that transport his ancestor’s language from the buried archives to the spotlight.
“One hesitates to use the word profound too often but this performance was all of that.” – ARTSFILE
